S. Katherine Shealy
Artistic Director: Director of Concordia Voices, Ariana Women’s Choir and Orpheus Men’s Choir

Katherine Shealy obtained her Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education from the University of Delaware with Paul Head and her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from West Chester University with David DeVenney. Ms. Shealy has sung in, assisted with, or directed ensembles through Concordia Choral Arts since its inception in 2006, including having directed and led the Pennsylvania Academy of Performing Arts’ envoy of singers on a tour of four cities throughout China as part of the Fourth Annual Eric Whitacre International Choral Festival in 2006. Choirs under her direction have been awarded Superior ratings at scholastic competitions as well as selected as finalists in the Christmas Choir contest held by Philadelphia radio station More-FM (formerly B101). Most recently, Concordia Choral Arts was honored to be selected to represent community choirs at the state level by the American Choral Directors Association at their Pennsylvania Fall Conference in 2015, held at Susquehanna University. Currently, she directs Concordia Voices, CCA’s premier choral ensemble, as well as oversees the Outreach Performance Program, Summer Acappella Workshops, and CCA’s tandem choirs Ariana Women’s and Orpheus Men’s Choirs. She has cumulatively taught voice lessons, choral music, music appreciation, musical theatre, music theory/ear training, and integrated arts courses in both Delaware and Pennsylvania for over a decade.

Jennifer Wright – Outreach Director

Jennifer Wright began playing the piano at age 7 and studied piano as an undergraduate at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. After graduating, while raising a family, she continued her musical studies and did post graduate work in voice, piano, and handbells at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.  Ms Wright also attended summer sessions at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey where she studied choral conducting, and methods for directing children’s choirs. Ms. Wright served for twenty years as Music Minister for various Protestant churches in Phoenix, Arizona; Lincoln, Nebraska; and West Chester and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.  During her years in the Music Ministry, Ms. Wright conducted children’s choirs, youth, and adult choirs, as well as handbell ensembles. Ms. Wright has spent the past nine years working as an advocate for individuals with special needs. When not working or making music, she is an avid gardener and, using the knowledge she’s gained from her studies at Longwood Gardens, maintains the property in southern Chester County where she lives happily with her husband, John.

Gail Habecker – Accompanist

Gail Habecker HeadshotGail Habecker has been accompanying the choirs of Concordia Choral Arts since the summer of 2007.  Born into a musical family, Gail has been playing piano since the age of four. During high school and college, she accompanied school and church choirs before graduating from Juniata College with an emphasis in vocal accompaniment. Since graduation, in addition to playing for Concordia, she has accompanied soloists, played in the Immaculata Symphony, and with other instrumental ensembles at chamber concerts of Immaculata University.  Gail also regularly performs piano duets in the Chester County region with Gail Busch, where they are known as Gail x 2. Ms. Habecker is also a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  She has a career in investment management and is part owner of StoneRidge PMG Advisors in West Conshohocken, PA. She lives in the Coatesville area with her husband, Perry, is a regular volunteer at the Chester County Library and enjoys reading, knitting, and quilting when she is not playing the piano.
